Mushroomhead é uma banda de metal industrial de Cleveland, Ohio. Formada em 1993 pelo baterista Skinny, seus integrantes utilizam pseudônimos e se apresentam com figurino grotesco, como máscaras e corpse paint.
A sonoridade do grupo sintetiza elementos da música alternativa, heavy metal e metal industrial, fortemente marcada pelo uso de guitarras de 7 cordas e teclados.
Um jornal de Cleveland, Plain Dealer, definiu o Mushroomhead como "sofisticado, denso, enérgico, com passagens melódicas e letras negras que não confiam em meramente palavras repetidas".
Eles estiveram no topo do Cleveland World Series of Metal durante os anos de 1997, 1998, 1999 e 2000. Já tocaram com bandas como Marilyn Manson, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God ,Meshuggah, Type O Negative, Gwar, Misfits, Anthrax, Down, Hed PE, Crowbar, Overkill, Six Feet Under e Nile.

Serj Adam Tankian, nascido em Beirute, Líbano (21 de Agosto de 1967), é o vocalista, tecladista e frontman do System of a Down, famosos por músicas ativistas, politizadas e com toques que variam do rock progressivo ao folk mediterrâneo. Serj pode ser considerado uma pessoa de extrema capacidade mental e visual, sendo um poeta, músico e ativista muito atuante. Publicou um livro de poesias, “Cool Gardens”. Com o amigo Arto Tuncboyaciyan, apresenta um programa de rádio mensal chamado Serart, projeto de música experimental. Fundou em 2001 seu selo próprio, Serjical Strike Records. Com Tom Morello, do Audioslave, tem uma organização ativista independente, chamada de Axis of Justice.
Serj também tem um álbum solo chamado Elect the Dead, que segundo ele mesmo, “é um álbum de rock, com uma sonoridade épica e com os mais diversos instrumentos, as mais diversas camadas, mas definitivamente é interessante. Não sei falar muito bem sobre a minha própria música, sou do tipo que espera as pessoas tirarem as suas próprias conclusões. Mas foi excitante trabalhar nele. Tive a mesma energia de quando gravei o primeiro trabalho do SYSTEM”, reiterou.
